kids

If you don't have one, you should! Yea, I know, not everyone should have kids but that aside... Seriously, go get one. Isabelle cracks me up lately. You've seen America's Funniest Home Video's, right? The funny stuff is kids and pets. Now I'm not going to promise a baby that'll bring so much laughter you're in tears right from the get-go. That's not how it works. The first few months actually kinda suck. They don't really do anything. Sure, they're snuggly and cute (or if you have a colicky baby, not so snuggly) but the tears you shed in fhte first few months are NOT from laughing. Then they start to get a little personality and they might giggle and you might just giggle along with them. Then they start laughing and you laugh with them. It's when they start talking and really showing their personality (like in the last few months) that you start laughing so hard you want to cry.

I wish I'd write more of this funny stuff down right after it happens because it easily escapes my mind. Isabelle is constantly making me laugh so by the time I think to write something down, she's already making me laugh about something else. It's not always tear-jerking laughter but funny enough coming from a 2-year old.

Exhibit A. This morning we were listening to Christmas music on the way to school. Because it's November and it's semi-acceptable. Out of nowhere, she says, "I singing. La la, dut dut." to the tune of "I'll be Home for Christmas."

Singing has been one of her favorite activities lately. Last night in the bath, she was doing the motions for "Itsy Bitsy Spider" (a favorite) while singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". When I told Johnas what she was doing, she quickly realized and switched to "wash spider out". That's her favorite part of the song. Mine too. We're not big spider fans.

I'm going to try real hard to remember more funny stuff. And if I ever catch something on video, I'll be sure to post it. It's so random though that by the time we get the camera out, she's done being funny.

She makes me laugh too. I think we all need to remember how it is to be a two year old. It looks like a whole lot of fun! I love it when she comes up and says "Gamma, Gamma, Gamma" or "help, help, help" real fast. Like she isn't getting all of your attention at that very second when in fact all you see and hear is her.
