REVIEW & Giveaway: FRESCHETTA® By the Slice Pizza

I recently had the opportunity to sample FRESCHETTA® By the Slice pizza. I got my coupon in the mail and was ready to come here and post my so-so review of MICROWAVEABLE pizza because we all know that pizza crust and microwaves don't really work together, right? I was wrong. (yes, Husband, you can record this in the book of "OMG she actually admitted to being wrong")

FRESCHETTA® By the Slice currently offers four flavors

* BBQ Recipe Chicken
* Vegetable Medley
* Chicken, Spinach & Mushroom
* Six Cheese Medley

I had a pretty tough time deciding which to try. So naturally I choose the one I thought my husband would like the least aka Chicken, Spinach & Mushroom. You know, so he wouldn't try to steal it.

I got ready for my expected so-so pizza for lunch at work on a Tuesday. I followed the instructions on the box. - which by the way reads "Ready in 4 Minutes FROM THE MICROWAVE" - 60 seconds on the outside of turntable, 90 seconds on the inside. Remove. Wait 1 minute. So really, the box could've read "Ready in UNDER 4 Minutes" And, it really was ready in less than 4 minutes. I'm sure you've all had a frozen lunch and followed the instructions to a T, resulting in a partially frozen, partially scalding meal. No? Yes you have.

This pizza was seriously done to perfection. I've been a skeptic of those "crisper trays" you find in certain frozen, microwaveable meals. Probably because they haven't really worked in the past. I sort of took the one that came with this pizza apart after I was done eating (because there was a little bit of cheese stuck on the side and I couldn't waste it. It was too good) and it's some crazy contraption they've got going but whatever they did, they did right. I actually had crispy crust!

Portion-wise, this was just the right size. If I was thinking ahead though, I would've brought a soda. Because I don't really like soda but I love soda with pizza. And maybe a side of some fruit. But I had just the one slice of pizza and I survived until dinner time.
